The mission of the Monongalia County Solid Waste Authority is to provide the residents of Monongalia County with the facilities and services to adequately deal with solid waste and litter control.
The facilities and services provided by the Monongalia County Solid Waste Authority (MCSWA) include the clearing of illegal dumps, removal of roadside litter, managing garbage hauler concerns, and providing recycling facilities.
The MCSWA is responsible for operating and maintaining the Monongalia County Community Recycling Center on River Road, as well as providing special recycling events. The MCSWA also helps educate the public about recycling and other environmental and/or waste related issues.
